Process Industrial Engineer

Full-time, direct hire position
$50k - $60k+ annually
The Process Industrial Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes to ensure operational efficiency, high product quality, and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting time studies, supporting automation initiatives, and delivering process training to production personnel. The Process IE also plays a key role in customer audits and in resolving IE-related issues across PCBA and FA operations.
Key Responsibilities
Process Documentation & Standards
- Develop, write, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for PCBA and FA processes.
- Ensure all SOPs are accurate, up to date, and approved prior to production changes.
Process Optimization
- Analyze and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce cycle time, and lower operational cost.
- Conduct time and motion studies to establish reliable and auditable standard times for all operations.
- Support implementation of automation solutions to enhance productivity and reduce manual labor.
Training & Support
- Provide training sessions for operators and supervisors on updated SOPs and process changes.
- Ensure training documentation and records are properly maintained.
Audit & Compliance
- Participate in customer audits and address all IE-related questions, corrective actions, or findings.
- Assist cross-functional teams in maintaining compliance with internal and external quality requirements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- SOP Accuracy & Timeliness: 100% of SOPs updated and approved prior to production changes.
- Process Efficiency: Achieve 3-5% cycle-time improvement per quarter.
- Training Completion: 100% of production staff trained within 2 weeks of new SOP release.
- Standard Time Accuracy: Maintain ±5% variance in audited time standards.
- Automation Support: Contribute to at least 2 automation projects per year.
- Audit Compliance: Zero major IE-related findings during customer audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in process engineering or industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of time and motion studies.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with digital tools such as MES, ERP, or BI dashboards (preferred).
- Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
